Day Rides

We run regular day rides, if you have a particular date in mind or want to join one of our upcoming dates please call 01746 718436, will be more than happy to accommodate you.

We have several fabulous day ride routes which involve interlinking Bridleways across hills, through woodland, alongside beautiful lakes and even through herds of wild ponies!

There are several considerations for choosing a route which in the end has to be down to the instructors on the day, because whilst we are happy for you to suggest your favourite or prefered route, weather and local knowledge can mean we have to make a sudden change-(the Hunt meeting on our route!)

Here is a list of some of our favourites.  The list is not exhaustive as we are constantly updating new routes and regulars often enjoy an 'exploratory' ride which we take particularly through the busy periods which can be quite an adventure in itself! (Do let us know if you are interested.)

A firm favourite is the Railway Line which offers continuous safe canters or gallops or for beginners lots of off road in a safe scenic environment.  Depending on the pace we link this route up to the Brown Clee and sometimes make it to the top and enjoy the magnificent scenery.  Our stops are usually the Boyne Pub, but we are hoping to do a more casual stop with the ex landlady from the Boyne who always make delicious soup or similar and makes us very welcome.

The Fish & Chip/ Kremlin Ride! Helen came up with this one, and found a great chippy and in the summer a seriously good ice cream parlour and a fabulous pub who do ridiculously cheap lunches for around a fiver!  They are super accommodating and the Kremlin is so called because it is the highest point in a direct line with our friends in Russia.  You are right at the top of the amazing Titterstone Clee.  Its wild, rugged and a very exciting ride.

The Mawley Ride.  This has been a gorgeous ride stopping for a delicious £5 brunch at The Kings Arms with their roaring fire.  We can also extend the ride and make it to the lovely award winning country pub the Crown at Hopton.  What's great about this ride is got a bit of everything.  Magnificent park land through Mawley Hall estate, quaint lanes and plenty of fast canters through fields and farmland.  There is a tricky downhill woodland section which you just need to close your eyes for and the ride across the Cheese Grater can be quite exciting (massive waterfall!).

Chelmarsh Reservoir is a firm favourite as it follows the first part of the Jack Mytton Way along the gorgeous bridleways nestling along the River Severn and stopping for lunch at the fab Dinney Farm for home cooked lunch overlooking the lake or the Bulls Head.  The Chelmarsh ride is famous for its last stretch of fields after fields of gallops!

Chorley Woods, The Apley Run and the local routes all combine into 3 or 4 various day rides interlocking all our super bridleways together.  These rides will last all day and are particularly suitable for novice or family groups as we can easily interlock, shorten or lengthen the route depending on everyone's fitness level.  The Chorley woods  need a special mention as they are farmed full of deer and make a super ride!

Kinlet- We have successfully linked routes through Bagginswood which is full of Forest Trails, through to the Eagle & Serpent pub in Kinlet.  It is a very pretty ride, with lots of secret woodland tracks, and plenty of fields and headlands for those wishing to have a fast and furious ride!!
