Country Treks Trail Rides...

We offer a range of trail rides which can be tailored to meet the individual needs of the rider whether you are a beginner or an advanced rider.  We can arrange a package to suit you!

Most trail rides are for experienced riders who are proficient at walk, trot and canter and who feel confident riding at a fast pace as you can expect to be in the saddle for at least 5 hours each day to explore this amazing countryside.  However, if you are a beginner or only confident in walk and trot, we can arrange day rides and longer rides to suit you. Don't hesitate to call us and discuss your options. Please be honest about your ability so that we can make sure that we find the right ride for you.

Ludlow Trail Ride

The Ludlow trail ride is a one way, one off affair! Its a grand semi-circular route encompassing the Clee, Ludlow Town, Mortimer Forest and a line of gorgeous villages and bridleways. Its an adventure so be prepared for the unexpected! £95 per day riding, accomodation to be confirmed.

Severn Valley Trail Ride

We follow the Jack Mytton Way to the River Severn then cross the river into the Severn Valley country park, where there is a fabulous 25 mile off road route through the fabulous Dudmaston Estate.

The ride encompasses lakes, fields, parkland and woodland tracks so there is ample opportunity to canter and gallop! At one point we canter alongside the uninterrupted view of the River Severn and all its wildlife.

The Jack Mytton Trail Ride

The journey takes us along the famous wooded Wenlock Edge towards Church Stretton, heading up Cardingmill Valley onto the Long Mynd. The reason for its name (long mountain)becomes quite obvious. The rolling farm land and hillocks on its western slopes have a special charm all of their own and are very beautiful. The final part of the journey takes us through quiet undiscovered countryside passing through the lovely town of Clun with its medieval bridge and castle, then onto the Offas Dyke path on the Welsh border, with a final descent into the Welsh village of Llanfair Waterdine.

Shropshire Hills Adult/Teenage Trail Ride- 2 day ride

Day 1

We will be climbing up to the top of the Titterstone clee, followed by exhilarating turns of speed along the fantastic canter tracks, stopping for a quick lunch at Wheathill. Making our way through Woodland tracks opening up onto the wide open space of the Nordy Ring, plenty of opportunity to give the horses legs a stretch! Endless gallops, challenging terrain.

The final challenge of the day will be a climb towards the top of the Brown Clee, reaching the highest point in Shropshire, 'The Abdon Burf', which is 1700 feet above sea level, ears may start popping at this point!

DAY 2

After waking up and pinching yourself as you admire the outstanding views and set yourself up for the days adventure, our instructor and transport will collect riders and luggage. We head back up to the horses for a mass wake up call as they often lie down and pretend they are not there. We tack up and set off to finish our ascent of the Brown Clee taking a ride over to the second summit Clee Burf where you can have a bit of a breather at the top and check out the views over the Long Mynd and observe the miles we have covered the previous day. We then make our way down the hill and head off into the beautiful Boyne Estate riding through fantastic woodland tracks and eventually down to The Boyne Arms for a lunch stop.

After lunch we head off on an old railway line which goes on for miles taking us onto pretty lanes which will eventualy take us back home.
