Day Rides

We have several fabulous day ride routes which involve interlinking Bridleways across hills, through woodland, alongside beautiful lakes and even rides through herds of wild ponies!

There are several considerations for choosing a route which in the end has to be down to the instructors on the day, because whilst we are happy for you to suggest your favourite or preferred route, weather and local knowledge can mean we have to make a sudden changes (i.e the Hunt meeting on our route!). But rest assured whichever route your Country Treks instructor chooses, all of our options for day rides for adults cover beautiful scenery and a variety of terrains.

Here is a list of some of our favourites… The list is not exhaustive as we are constantly updating to find new ones!

  • The Railway Line is a firm favourite which offers continuous canters or gallops and lots of off road riding in a safe scenic environment.  Depending on the pace we link this route up to the Brown Clee and sometimes make it to the top and enjoy the magnificent scenery.  Our stops are usually the Boyne Pub, or The Three Horse Shoes which is a more casual stop with the ex landlady from the Boyne, who always make delicious soup and makes us and the horses very welcome.

  • The Mawley Ride has been a gorgeous ride stopping for a delicious brunch at The Kings Arms with their roaring fire.  We can also extend the ride and make it to the lovely award winning country pub the Crown at Hopton. What’s great about this ride is got a bit of everything: magnificent park land through Mawley Hall estate, quaint lanes and plenty of fast canters through fields and farmland.  There is a tricky downhill woodland section which you just need to close your eyes for and the ride across the Cheese Grater can be quite exciting (massive waterfall!).

  • Chelmarsh Reservoir is a firm favourite as it follows the first part of the Jack Mytton Way along the gorgeous bridleways nestling along the River Severn stopping for lunch at the fab Dinney Farm for home cooked lunch overlooking the lake or the Bulls Head.  The Chelmarsh ride is famous for its last stretch of fields after fields of gallops!

  • Stottesdon and Surrounding,  the local routes all combine into 3 or 4 various day rides interlocking all our super bridleways together.  These rides last all day and are particularly suitable for novice or family groups as we can easily interlock, shorten or lengthen the route depending on everyone’s fitness level.  The Chorley woods need a special mention as they are farmed full of deer and make a super ride with a delicious lunch at The Fighting Cocks.

Other Rides include Cleobury and the Larch Barn, The Wyre Forest and more!
